RC3 Recital

Congratulations on successful completion of your piano recital! Now, here's what you need to do in order to receive a grade:

1. Email Ms. Ginn at cccepavocal@gmail.com and request to view your video.
2. After watching your video a minimum of twice, rate yourself using the following rubric.
3. Send Ms. Ginn your self-assessment score in the format indicated on the rubric.

VC: Wrapping up relative minors and a relative minor quiz.

RC3: Piano recital is on Friday! The rubric that you will use to assess yourself can be found in my last blog post.

RC4: Continuing with triads. We move into function of triads this week, so come with your brains turned on.

RC3: View your piano performance rubric here. Your recital will be recorded, and you will need to email Ms. Ginn to view your video. Then assess yourself according to the rubric and send your results to Ms. Ginn to be graded.

Week of 9/18/17

Congratulations on a great concert! This week will be concert wrap-up, jumping back into groups, and getting in gear for All-State prep. Please see Dr. Woolf's blog for full details.

Here's the plan for my groups this week!

VC Badgers and Caribou: We will review key signatures a bit, and then you will have an opportunity to re-take the quiz if you would like to do so.

VC Alpacas and VC4: We will be applying key signatures in our sight-singing practice.

RC3: You will be practicing your recital repertoire.

RC4 Lucy: Interval quiz! It's happening this week, so study up!

RC4 Ethel: Intro to triads. Do you know about quality, inversion, and function?

CC Felix: Function of triads! Why do we use Roman Numerals?

CC Oscar & Phoenix: Triads quiz!

Week of 8/28/17

Happy Monday! This week's schedule is a little different, so please check Dr. Woolf's blog for details.

Here's the plan for groups:

VC: How do you find 1 for sight singing examples? We will have a brief intro to key signatures on the first day of groups. On the second, we will do a fun activity to pull together the things we've been learning about pitch and rhythm.

RC3: By this week, your repertoire should be settled. We'll talk about practice strategies and have a graded progress check.

RC4: Interval review! You'll only have one group rotation this week, so come prepared to move fast.

CC: Intro/review of triads.

Week of 8/14/17

Congrats on your first concert! And now...groups start. Here's the plan:

VC Theory: No groups yet. You will have a unit on the Star-Spangled Banner first, then groups next week.

RC3 Piano: We will spend a week brushing up on playing triads and starting pitch. That also means a little sight-singing practice, so get ready!

RC4, Chamber, and Phoenix Theory: Quick review for everyone on key signatures and intervals. If you need extra practice on either topic, please visit musictheory.net.
