Week of 9/18/17

Congratulations on a great concert! This week will be concert wrap-up, jumping back into groups, and getting in gear for All-State prep. Please see Dr. Woolf's blog for full details.

Here's the plan for my groups this week!

VC Badgers and Caribou: We will review key signatures a bit, and then you will have an opportunity to re-take the quiz if you would like to do so.

VC Alpacas and VC4: We will be applying key signatures in our sight-singing practice.

RC3: You will be practicing your recital repertoire.

RC4 Lucy: Interval quiz! It's happening this week, so study up!

RC4 Ethel: Intro to triads. Do you know about quality, inversion, and function?

CC Felix: Function of triads! Why do we use Roman Numerals?

CC Oscar & Phoenix: Triads quiz!

Week of 8/28/17

Happy Monday! This week's schedule is a little different, so please check Dr. Woolf's blog for details.

Here's the plan for groups:

VC: How do you find 1 for sight singing examples? We will have a brief intro to key signatures on the first day of groups. On the second, we will do a fun activity to pull together the things we've been learning about pitch and rhythm.

RC3: By this week, your repertoire should be settled. We'll talk about practice strategies and have a graded progress check.

RC4: Interval review! You'll only have one group rotation this week, so come prepared to move fast.

CC: Intro/review of triads.

VC Theory: No groups yet. You will have a unit on the Star-Spangled Banner first, then groups next week.

RC3 Piano: We will spend a week brushing up on playing triads and starting pitch. That also means a little sight-singing practice, so get ready!
